1. Who we are

Our website address is https://elwahidiclinic.com.
Dr. Ahmed Elwahidi Clinic is a consultant general, bariatric and advanced laparoscopic
surgical practice based at Al Basma Medical Complex, 4th Floor, 3rd Circle, Jabal Amman,
Amman, Jordan. We are the controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Contact & appointment forms

When you submit the contact form, the booking form, or request a consultation,
we collect your name, phone number, email address, and any message or symptom
description you provide.

WhatsApp & email inquiries

If you contact the Clinic by WhatsApp or email — including as an international
patient sending a case summary — we receive your phone number or email address
and the content of your messages and attachments.

Technical & usage data

Like most websites, our server automatically logs your IP address, browser and
device type, and pages visited, mainly to keep the site secure and detect abuse.

Comments (if enabled)

If you leave a comment on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form,
plus your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized hash of your email address may be checked against the Gravatar
service; once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly
alongside it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at
automattic.com/privacy.

3. Medical & health data

Because we are a surgical clinic, some of the information you choose to send us is
health data — for example symptoms, prior diagnoses, surgical
history, radiology or laboratory reports, endoscopy results, and imaging files (including
DICOM/CT/MRI scans) that international patients send for pre-travel review.

This information is sent to us voluntarily, by you, so that Dr. Ahmed Elwahidi and the
clinical team can review your case. We treat it as confidential medical information at
all times, and it is only accessed by clinic staff directly involved in your care or
the coordination of your treatment.

Please avoid sending medical files over unsecured channels if you have concerns about a
particular platform’s security — you are always welcome to ask us for an
alternative, more secure way to share sensitive files (for example a direct email or a
password-protected cloud link).

4. How we use your data

  • To respond to your inquiry and schedule or manage a consultation or surgical appointment.
  • To review medical records and imaging you submit, and provide an initial clinical opinion or treatment pathway.
  • To coordinate your care with partner hospitals in Amman when a procedure is planned.
  • To send appointment confirmations, reminders, or necessary follow-up communication.
  • To maintain the security of the website and detect spam or abusive submissions.
  • To meet legal, medical record-keeping, and regulatory obligations in Jordan.

We do not use your medical information for marketing, and we do not sell personal data to any third party.

6. Who we share your data with

  • Partner hospitals in Amman — only when a procedure is being coordinated, and only the clinical information needed for that admission.
  • Service providers we rely on to run the website and communications (e.g. hosting, email delivery, spam-detection, and file-transfer tools such as WhatsApp, email, or cloud-storage links you choose to use).
  • Legal or regulatory authorities, only where we are required to do so by law.

If you request a password reset for an account on this site, your IP address is included in the reset email for security purposes.

We do not share, rent, or sell your personal or medical data to advertisers or unrelated third parties.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Appointment and clinical records are retained for as long as required by applicable Jordanian medical record-keeping regulations.
  • Contact-form submissions that do not lead to an appointment are kept only as long as needed to respond to the inquiry, then deleted or anonymized.
  • If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so that follow-up comments from you can be recognized automatically instead of held for moderation.
  • If you register an account on the site, we store the profile information you provide; you can review, edit, or delete it at any time (except your username).

8. Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies, purely for your convenience so you do not have to re-enter them next time. These last for one year.

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, screen-option cookies last a year. Choosing “Remember Me” extends your login for two weeks. Logging out removes your login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It contains no personal data, simply the post ID of the article you edited, and expires after one day.

9. Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content, for example a Google Maps location on
our Contact page, or videos on our Video Gallery. Embedded content behaves exactly as if
you had visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party
tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking
your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

10. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including restricted
staff access to medical information and secure hosting — to protect the data you
share with us. However, no method of transmission over the internet (including WhatsApp,
email, or standard cloud links) is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security
for data you choose to send us over these channels.

Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam-detection service.

11. Your rights over your data

If you have contacted us, booked an appointment, or left a comment on this site, you can request to:

  • Receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate personal data.
  • Ask us to erase personal data we hold about you, where we are not obliged to keep it for medical, legal, administrative, or security reasons.
  • Withdraw consent for us to hold or process health information you previously shared.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14 below.

12. Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for adults seeking surgical consultation on their own behalf or
on behalf of a patient in their care. If a minor’s medical information is submitted
to us, it is only ever provided and consented to by a parent or legal guardian, and is
handled with the same confidentiality as any other clinical record.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices
or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows
when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

14. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, contact us:

This page is provided as a general privacy notice for the Clinic’s website and is
not a substitute for legal advice. Because this site collects health information, we
recommend having it reviewed by a lawyer familiar with Jordan’s Personal Data
Protection Law before relying on it as your final policy.
